This first release on UnitOvOne’s Red Label lends the pedestal to St. Louis’s own Summer & Bargo, producers and performers of note throughout the region. Summer’s Nutriatastic is a peak time tech-house monster, channeling one from the dance floor to the lost expanses of the mind, transported through the tree tops and down into the darkness of the forest floor in this audio epic pièce de résistance. Bargo’s Legerdemain is a brooding, dark and sexy minimal techno tune with moody sound-scapes complimented by pulsating and erotic bass-lines. Warm and alluring, Bargo weaves between the sparse and complex for a very tight and hypnotic techno track.

SUMMER
His name has become synonymous with techno culture in St. Louis, and his sound has come to define the depth and soul of the genre in the region. The last twelve years has seen Summer dominate both the Nashville and St. Louis markets as both as a DJ and as a promoter, with a distinctive flair to his productions, he has developed a club culture following and respect of his professional peers. His music productions began in 2006, and over the past five years, Summer has crafted a heavy, deep and melodic sound all his own. Standing out above the average house/techno sound, his driving force inspires consistent peak-night plays. Summer’s sound exposes his various inspirations, from the likes of John Digweed, Guy Gerber, Guy J, Henry Saiz, Paul Ritch, Christian Smith and John Selway.

BARGO
An Eastern Kentucky native and now a St. Louis fixture, BARGO has long been forging his brand. From his very beginnings as a dj decade ago, Justin Bargo’s minimal techno productions have emphasized a blend of soul and experimentation rather than glam or pop-appeal. As a DJ and a producer, Bargo’s sound carries a hypnotic and erotic appeal. Drawing from a diverse realm of influences, his productions are architectures of a much deeper, more romantic and sensual touch to push past the boundaries of traditional minimal techno.
